As part of our responsibility with the community Plaza Provision Company gets involved with many associations island wide. Most of the donations are made in food as we do with El Banco de Alimentos de Puerto Rico, www.bancoalimentospr.org which received over 187,000 lbs during 2004-05 just from our company. This is a private, not for profit organization that collects, stores and distributes food to approximately 450 non-profit member agencies feeding programs. This food benefits children, homeless individuals and families, elderly people, among others.

We also contribute to children's education through El Museo del Niño www.museodelninopr.org. Located in Old San Juan this special museum gives the opportunity to learn and practice in a funny way. Plaza Provision sponsors La Placita del Museo that is an area dedicated to the original plazas as we see them in our towns. In La Placita you can also see a small supermarket (colmado) where children can shop just for fun.

In the educational area, Plaza Provision is a proud sponsor of the Fundación de Becas Para Hotelería y Turismo www.prhta.org. Their mission is to provide educational opportunities for professional studies in the hospitality industry. It is a non-profit organization formed in 1989. Scholarships are awarded for studies in hotel and restaurant administration at both the graduate and undergraduate levels as well as for studies in culinary and wine arts at the associate and bachelor degree levels.

Fundación Dr. García Rinaldi
fundaciondrgarciarinaldi.org is another institution that Plaza sponsors. This is also a non-profit organization that since 1993 has the mission to collaborate intensely in the struggle against cardiovascular diseases offering educational services in prevention, new technology and research.

In the recycling area Plaza Provision makes donations to Conserva el Encanto which is the local version of Keep America Beautiful. This organization is affiliated to ICPRO and has been dedicated to educate about the importance of the environmental conservation. Thru Conserva el Encanto the reduce-reuse-recycle message is spread to involve most of the municipalities in the island in order to maintain them clean and beautiful.

Through our associated company Plaza Cellars and its Fine Wine Celebration, Ser De Puerto Rico is also proudly sponsored.
